Congratulations to the Governor Football team on their victory Friday night and another trip to the 11AA State Football Championship game at the DakotaDome!  The Pierre School District will dismiss at 12:30PM this Friday, November 15th, to allow staff, students, and parents to attend the game in Vermillion if desired.  

Riggs High School is holding a send off that morning for our football team at 8:45AM in the theater lobby.  The public is welcome to attend.  

All tickets for the game Friday night at the DakotaDome are General Admission, and can be purchased by going to https://www.goyotes.com/tickets and selecting South Dakota High School Football Championships.  Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for students.

Mr. Bohls, the Elementary Physical Education Teacher at Buchanan Elementary was recognized at the SHAPE SD Elementary Teacher of the Year!  SHAPE SD is the Society for Health And Physical Education of South Dakota.  SHAPE SD is a group of professionals collaborating to promote active life styles for all South Dakotans.  

Mrs. Nedrebo, Buchanan Elementary Principal, stated, "Each day, Mr. Bohls brings a level of energy and dedication that makes his PE classes a favorite part of our students’ day. His guiding motto, 'Do your best and forget the rest,' is something he instills in every student, reminding them that it’s their effort that matters most.

Mr. Bohls also reinforces the power of collaboration, telling staff and students that 'Teamwork makes the dream work.' Through his teaching, students learn that working together and supporting each other is key to reaching goals, in and out of the gym.

 Perhaps one of his most impactful messages is, 'Control what you can—your effort, attitude, and choices.' He encourages students to take ownership of their actions, helping them develop resilience and a positive outlook that will benefit them far beyond elementary PE class.

 I am honored to celebrate Mr. Bohls winning this award. His impact on our school community is profound, and we are so fortunate to have him on our team!"

Parent/Guardian(s) looking to enroll their child in the Pierre School District must complete our Student Online Registration.

Use a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to complete the online registration. Each school in the district has computers available to complete online student registration, if necessary.

Select "Start New Registration" to provide information for all children. All students can be added to the same application.
