
If your child is sick
If your child is ill, do not send your child to school. Please refer to the South Dakota Department of Health for a full listing of recommendations. Students should not attend school if:
- Temperature is 100.4 or above, with or without the use of fever-reducing medication.
- The child is vomiting or has diarrhea.

Head Lice Policy
The parent of a student found to have live head lice will receive a personal call or a note sent home regarding treatment. A student with live lice may be excluded immediately in the event of frequent or repeated infestations or at the discretion of the school nurse.

Immunizations Required for School Entry in South Dakota
South Dakota Codified Law 13-28-7.1 requires students entering school or early childhood programs to present certification that they have been adequately immunized, according to the recommendations of the Department of Health. The law applies to all children entering school for the first time, including transfer students.
